Cera Bellina (INCI: Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax)

R95,00R6855,00

Cera bellina does a few very cool things!

Its primary use is as a thickener/solidifier, creating very smooth, slippy oil gels. It also helps with pigment distribution, reduces sweating in solid balms, and can function as a co-emulsifier.

We love using it to create ointments and lip glosses, where it thickens and gives a beautiful gel consistency that is really well suited to those types of products.

Cera Bellina is a derivative of natural beeswax where the free fatty acids have been converted to polyglycerol esters, therefore increasing the hydrophilicity of the molecule. Elimination of these fatty acids improves stability, oil gelling, and increases overall consistency of a formula.

Cera Bellina is similar to beeswax with improved oil gelling properties. It suppresses oil syneresis and inhibits crystallization in formulation.

Uses include dispersions, anhydrous systems, color cosmetics and skin care. Usage levels for improvements as low as 2%.

Appearance: Small off-white pellets/beads

Usage rate: 2 – 30%

Approximate Melting Point: 63-73C

Solubility: Oil

Notes:

Include cera bellina in your heated oil phase; it must be melted to use.

Products made with it can feel quite greasy, so its recommended to use more faster absorbing oils

The inclusion of cera bellina in your formulas can help prevent graininess in butters like shea butter.
